Some of TASC’s core members are trust and memorial funds which raise money to put towards projects tackling suicide and depression. Therefore if an important project or organisation requires funding these members will consider whether they are able to help.
For example: The Survivors of Bereavement By Suicide (SOBS) is an almost entirely volunteer run organisation which supports those who have been bereaved by suicide. They are the only organisation of their kind and provide unequaled support for all those who have lost someone to suicide.
In the Government’s latest Suicide Prevention Strategy reference was made to increasing support available to those bereaved by suicide, but unfortunately there is no funding forthcoming. Some of the core TASC members have provided core funding to SOBS in order that they might continue doing their valuable work and expand their reach further.
